Sooo, in the past month there have been a lot of crocheting, some knitting and a new skill: spinning:) The latest I still need to practice a lot but I can tell you, it is soo much fun! Especially that the wool is so soft;I think hobbies that feel good and soft in your hands are better for your soul - especially for mine. That´s why I switched from jewellery to knitting. Because the touch is much nicer!

We´ve been to the annual knitting weekend with the knitting group - it was again very nice. And the Knit in Public Day is coming - so we will have some organizing to do here:) It is still so much fun.

I shortly touched the hobby "filofaxing", but I have to admit, it is nice, but I would not get into it into a huge extent. Having a nicely decorated agenda is fine, but that´s all.
Instead here is a snapshot of our baby-blanket for a friend, made by 12 ladies from the knitting group. So cute!

The Knitter´s Pride

Amiota intenziven kotok, kevesebb ekszert keszitek. (kevesebbet = szinte semmit). Ennek foleg az az oka, hogy a fonal - legyen gyapju, akril vagy selyem - sokkal kellemesebb tapintasu, mint a kupos- es metszofogo. Kar, pedig neha nagyon kellene valami uj design (amit ugy kompenzalok, hogy budapesti kezmuves designboltokban verem el a penzt cuki ekszerekre).
Annyira azert megsem nagy baj ez, a kotes-horgolas teljesen felboritotta es egyben fellenditette a szocialis kapcsolati halomat. A ravelryrol majd irok egy uj bejegyzest a Grundra.

Tegnap nemfonalas dobozban keresgeltem kincseket az uj gyurus naptaramhoz es megtalaltam ezeket a behorgolt gyongyoket, amiket valamikor ajandekba kaptam. A szivarvanyszinuek kulon beszerzes voltak valamikor meg amikor kozel volt a gyongyosbolt. Tehat akkor kuposfogo+metszofogo+focimeccs a hatterben.
Kezimunkabloggernek idealis ekszer.

Since I´ve been knitting intensively I have rarely made any jewellery. (rarely= almost none). The main (philosophical) reason behind is that the touch of yarn (wool, acrilic or silk) is much much better than the touch of the jewellery-making tools. Too bad, because sometimes I really want to wear some new designs - which I compensate by buying a lots of cute stuff in the handmade-design shops in Budapest.
Although it is not THAT bad, knitting and crocheting gave a my social life a boost, my network is going rapidly into that direction.I will write an article about this (ravelry) to our community-blog.

Ssso, yesterday I was browsing though my non-yarn boxes for some stuff for my organiser when I found these crocheted beads in my stash. Some I got as a gift, some I bought back then when the bead shop was at walking distance. So I took my metallic tools and watched sweden-denmark (2:1).
It is a great necklace for a craft-blogger with a knitting-tick:)

End of June already!

I haven't written for ages, because the first half of this year (and the second half ol last year) was arount the WEDDING:) We got married in April here in Aachen in a wonderful church with great weather and celebrated in a wonderful place with lovely people. It was worth all the time, stress and planning. This was exactly the way I wanted it to be.

I wanted to have some DIY things for the wedding. This was for sure. So after the day he proposed, I ordered a book 100 Flowers to knit an crochet and I started to design my own wedding bouquet. I made the flowers quite quickly but was thinking of how to build it together for several months. Then I just started to make it and it was ready in 1,5 hrs. I love it.
My friend, Tanteizzy made me the tiny blue butterfly in it (this is the something blue).

I also made a bolero-thing for myself for the church (semi-followed the royal shrug pattern), however I dont have a photo of it were it really shows how cute it became...anyway, it was very handy to have it and it looked great.

My knitting-group buddies surprized me with crocheted flowers - they were standing in front of the church door after the ceremony and held them up so we could walk under them. It was so great! Afterwards I got all the flowers. Some of them are hanging in the flat, the rest will wait for my next birthday to be hung on the wall:)

What else happened besides the wedding?

In March we were in a knitting weekend in the Eifel with the Knitting group. It was great! GREAT!

AND we had the Knit in Public Day organized in Aachen! We guerilla-knitted a landing in the center of the city :)

Október

Nahát, már október van, annak is a vége...a nyár mindig zűrös és jó, az ősz meg még zűrösebb. Dolgoztam, kötöttem, nyaraltam. Olvastam, keveset irtam, (még mindig nincs hosszú i a billentyűzeten.) Többet fogok magyarul irni, mert sajnos felejtek és szörnyű tipikus hibákat vétek. De erről majd máskor.
Kötöttem sapkákat hegymászáshoz meg szülinapra. Elkezdtem egy végtelenenitett projektet - a Viajante-t. A képen levő fonalat fogom hozzá elhasználni. Most tartok a felénél. Ahhh...

És elkezdtem a kis virágokat horgolni a menyasszonyi csokromhoz meg tervbe van véve a kardigán és a shrug is. Mindezt időre, persze. Közben pedig szorgalmasan veszem a fonalakat a teljesen más projektekhez. :)

Crochet Squids for the Premature babies

Iden Miss Wings (Anita) egy uj akcihoz csatlakozott: a rotterdami Sophia Gyerekkorhaz koraszulott osztalyara varnak horgolt kispolipokat. Anita es Isabelle ebben segitenek; a boltban lehet venni horgolos-csomagot, amibol egyedul tudsz horgolni polipot. Ezt visszakuldod az uzletbe, ahol leellenorzik es kimossak oket. A polipok, akik atmennek a teszten, az koraszulott-osztalyra kerulnek, akik kiestek, a tobbi gyerekhez.Szponzoralni is lehet, akkor ok horgolkak a polipot, te csak a fonalat veszed.
Es hogy miert pont polip: a babak az inkubatorban mindig valami fogast keresnek (feltehetoen a koldokzsinor hianya miatt). Es ilyenkor altalaban az inkubator csoveit huzogatjak, ami senkinek se jo. Ugyhogy a sterilizalt, horgolt polipokat a babak melle fektetik es igy a polipok puha lababa tudnak kapaszkodni. Ez megnyugtatja a babakat.

This year Anita from Miss Wings supports a country-wide action of the Sophia Children's Hospital in Rotterdam. In Breda she and Isabelle coordinate the crocheting of small squids, washed them measures them and sends them to the hospital to the premature-baby department.
You can buy the crochet-kits at the shop, make the squids yourself and send them back to the shop for control and desinfectioning. You can also sponsor it by buying the yarn and they will crochet the squid for you. The squids that are approved go to the premature department, the ones that are not approve go to the other part of the hospital.
And why squids: the premature babies in the incubator are trying to grab things in the incubator itself- mostly the wires. We agree on it that it is not good. So they get a steril squid into the incubator and they can grab the legs of the squid - that calms the babies.

So far I have crocheted 2 sqids, they are going back to Breda by post this week.

Hat ez tenyleg nagyon jo honap volt. Lassan ujra el kene kezdeni ekszereket csinalni, sztem a kovetkezo hosszu hetvegen eloramolok. Kozben teszteltem Anyahajonak egy freeform viragot, a DM-es vaszonszatyromon kotottek ki.
PS. kellene nekem legalabb 70 darab sarga feju gombostu. nem surgos, de jo lenne. mereljewels at gmail es akkor modok cimet, meg hogy mire kell.

It was a really good month. I should start again makin jewels, I think I will start on the next long weekend. In the meantime I tested a freeform crochet flower pattern for Anyahajo, they landed on my DM canvas bag.
PS. I would need approx 70 pieces of yellow-headed pins. It is not urgent, but if you could send me some, would be very helpful... mereljewels at gmail and i will tell u where to send them and why.

Nahat, en is lassan megkotom-horgolom a dolgokat, amiknek nepszeruseg-hullamai vannak:)
Annak mondjuk nagyon orulok, hogy vegre megtalaltam a fonalnak valo projektet. Mar megvan 2 (!) eve a fonal, probaltam belole kardigant, salat, kendot kotni, de valahogy nem passzolt. Aztan a lace-fonalas tapasztalatok alapjan eldolt, hogy dupla szalra fogom es horgolok belole. Igy lett SBS. Jo minta, meg lehet, h bevetem egy parszor. A ravelryn vigyazni kell, mert sok kepen ketrahajtasos palcanak tunnek az sbs palcai, de egyrahajtasossal tokeletesek. Ettol fuggetlenul, ha sok fonalam lesz, ki fogom probalni ketrahajtasossal is.

It seems that slowly I also knit and crochet all the "IT" pieces of knitting and crocheting patterns. So this way I made my very own first SBS. I was very happy that I finally found a matching pattern for the beautiful hand-dyed yarn.  I do like it.

Color affection

Hát végre készen van! Bevallom, már a második sortól kezdve nagyon untam. De mondjuk igy jár, aki lustakötéssel akar bármit. Viszont nagyon tetszik. Nagyon. De mint a ravelryn is irtam, felőlem átkeresztelhetjük Never Again kendőre. Mondjuk lehet, hogy megkötöm mégegyszer, nagyon vastag fonalból. Addig is az összes csipke (lace) fonalat elkojtom a lakásból. LOVE.

So this is it, FINALLY ready. I admit, I was bored right from the second row. But I should not complain, I chose the garter stich pattern. Nervertheles I LOVE it. Very much.  As I wrote also on the ravelry, I could give it a middle name saying "never again". Although I might knit it again from a very thick yarn. In the meanwhile I will get rid pf all the lace yarn from the house. LOVE.

And where do you keep all your stuff?

 A költözésben az a jó, hogy kiélhetem a pinteresten belinkelt inspirációkat. Lásd kötött puff. Lásd párnatartó fonott kosár. (majd mutatom, ha megjöttek a bútorok). Meg van az, hogy van egy jól bevált saját ötlet, mint például a szekrény oldalára ragasztott kampók a nyakláncoknak. Azt itt meg nem lehet, mert a szekrénynek nincs oldala.
Úgyhogy ez egy sima festővászon, famintás karton hobbiragasztóval ráragasztva. És a kampók. Remélem, birja egy ideig:)

The good thing in moving house is that I can make some pinterest-seen inspiration to reality. See knitted poef below. See pillow-holder basket (will be shown when the furniture arrives). And there is the already used and liked idea of small hooks for the necklaces on the side of the cupboard. Which here does not work because the cupboard does not have a free side.
So this is a simple paint canvas withscrap paper glued with hobbyglue on it. Ant the hooks of coursse. I hope it will hold for some time...:)

Annyi minden tortent februarban, milyen gyorsan eltelt...

A varos meg mindig tetszik. Jelentkeztem, felvettek, dolgozom.

So many things happenned in February. 

I still like the city. I applied, they hired me, I started working.

A macska pedig megoregedett, megbetegedett es eltunt. Vigasztalhatatlan vagyok.

The cat got old and sick and disappeared. I am devastated.

No time for knitting.

Cat for the baby

Gabriella's mother is pregnant again:) so I made a toy for the new baby, I hope they all will like it...

Stash and so...

Túl sokat kötöttem az elmúlt héten - úgyhogy most legalább két napig nem nyúlok semmilyen tűhöz...viszont lefényképeztem és feltöltöttem a ravelryre a fonalaimat (ravelry zsargon: stash) és az éppen műben levő dolgokat (ravelry zsargon: wip). A képek magukért beszélnek...

És ami a legjobb, a ravelryn (ravelry zsargon: rav) találtam egy aacheni kötős csoportot! Tegnap volt is egy találkozójuk 10perc sétára tőlem. Nagyon jó volt!!! Teljesen más világ, mint a mi kis bredai csoportunk, mindenféle durván bonyolult és nagyon szép dolgokat kötnek együtt, felismernek rajtad kardigánokat ('ez a shalom kardigán, én is megkötöttem') és tűket értékelnek. Nekem való, fel kell hozzá nőnöm:) Márciusban újra megyek:)

I've been knitting too much in the last week - so now at least 2days long I will not touch any kind of needles...in the meanwhile I made pictures of my yarn stash and uploaded them on ravelry. All the projects too. (wip). The pictures tell it all...

And what is really cool, I've found a knitting group in Aachen on ravelry! Yesterday they had a meeting 10minutes walk far away from my place, so I could join! It was sooo nice!!!! It is a complete different league than our lovely knitting group in Breda, here they are knitting all kinds of super difficult patterns together, all of them recognize worn cardigans by pattern ("this is the shalom cardigan you are wearing, I've also made it once") and they are discussing about quality of knitting needles. It is really something for me, I love it. And still need to learn a lot:) I am going again in March.

Annyi minden tortenik es megsem tortenik semmi... turelmetlen control-freak vagyok. :) elkezdtem mult szombaton a macskas pulcsit, a hata kesz lett kedden, tegnap nem tudtam az alkaromat mozgatni az izomlaz miatt. node mukodik igy is, a macskat mar elkezdtem az elejebe kotni, ez a hatul valo fonalvezetes eleg maceras, de biztos jo lesz.
Jovo szerdan jonnek a butorok, utana valo heten a szekek. A butorokkal egyutt jonnek a kosarak, ahova a fonalhegyeket at lehet pakolni. Es mar megint meg fogom fogadni, hogy nem veszek fonalat. aha. :) Kozben nezem a Craftsyn az Knit to flatter kurzust (meg novemberben vettem akciosan), tokjo, most mar tudom, hogy kene pulcsit kotni. Szoval ma meg holnap fonalakat fogok fenykepezni es a ravelryre feltolteni. Mert a kezemnek meg pihenni kell sztem:)

There are so many things happening and you still have the felling it does not move forward...impatient control-freak, this is me. :) last week I started wit the cat sweater seen in the Simply Knitting (German version). omg. The back was ready on Tuesday, yesterday I could hardly move my arms bc of the pain...but it goes forward, I already started knitting-in the cat.
Next wednesday the rest of the furniture is coming along with the boxes for the yarn. And we also orderd the dining-table chairs. So in the next days I will make pictures of my stash and will upload it to ravelry. Just to try to keep track on it. And I will continue to watch the Knit to flatter course on Craftsy. As my arms still need some rest....

Germany, here we are

Nahát az történt, hogy elköltöztünk Németországba. Csak 200km-rel arrébb lakunk, mint eddig és máris meg kell szokni, hogy Danke Schön van a boltban és nem Bedankt. Meg hogy udvariasabban kell egy kicsit viselkedni. Meg hogy van a boltban húspult. :)
Úgyhogy igen, most állást keresek, német-holland-angol tárgyalóképes nyelvtudással, ismert hobbikkal Aachen és környékén. mereljewelskukacgmailpontcom. koszonom.

Különben most minden fonal a dobozokban van 12-éig, amikoris az ikea megküldi a könyvespolcokat és a dobozokat az expeditbe. A Color Affection közös kötésben vagyok benne a raveryn, úgyhogy most azzal szenvedek (tényleg, ezután az összes LACE vastagságú fonalamat el fogom akarni ajándékozni)
Egyébként az előző posztban látott puffot kötöttem legutóbb 9-es tűvel, ugye milyen jól illik az új ablakba. (tudtátok, hogy a Puff németül bordélyt jelent? megint tanultam valamit)

So we moved to Germany. It is only 200kms farther away from where we lived till now but I still have to get used to some things...like you say Danke Schoen instead of Bedankt. And that you need to be a bit more polite than before. And that there is a butcher in the supermarket :)
So yes, I am looking for a new job in Aachen with fluent German-Dutch-English-Hungarian with the well known hobbies and a university degree. mereljewelsatgmaildotcom thankyou

So now all the yar and stuff are in the moving boxes until ikea delivers the bookshelves and the nice boxed to my expedit. On ravelry we knit together the Color affection which will be the first and last lace project in my carreer.
So anyway the cushion/puff seen in the previous post is my latest, knitted it with needle size 9. How nicely it fits the new window :) (btw, dod you know that Puff means brothel in German?)
